London 2012 Summer Olympics - Day 1-3

Here are some of the wins and fails from the first few days of the London Olympics:

WIN

Swimming: China
China won only one gold medal at the Beijing Olympics and already have two gold medals after three days. Sun Yang won the men's 400m freestyle while Ye Shiwen won the women's 400m IM. Now this part is freaky, Ye Shiwen swam the last 50m of her race faster than her male counterpart winner in the 400m IM, Ryan Lochte, did in his own 400m IM. Given that Lochte will probably be the most decorated medalist at the London Olympics, this is insane!

Swimming: Lochte Gold Medal (Phelps phizzles)
Phelps barely qualified for the 400m IM as the 8th qualifier and finished 4th in the finals. After his win, Ryan Lochte said "I know it's my time and I'm ready".

Diving: Women's Synchronized 3m Springboard
Emilie Heymans and Jennifer Abel captured the bronze medal and Heymans became the first diver ever to win a medal in four consecutive Olympics. Good job!

Opening Ceremonies: Chariots of Fire & Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson)
Love Mr. Bean, in fact I like anything where grown-up act like children (see Will Ferrell movie, Step Brothers

FAIL

Swimming: Lockte's "grill"
Trying to hard to look cool.

Tennis: Sixth seed, Thomas Berdych
Lost in the first round here in Wimbledon and now in the Olympics. Surprising given he was one of only a handful of people who have ever beaten Federer at Wimbledon.
